Converter of dates allows you to convert a date of one calendar into dates of other world’s widely used calendars. Now the converter works with the Gregorian, Julian, Hebrew, Muslim and Iranian calendars. Today people use much more calendars so WhoYouGle will enlarge its converter of dates little by little.
Most people live by the Gregorian calendar. Today it is the main calendar with which other calendars are compared. The Muslim lunar calendar is the second most popular calendar by which many countries of the Middle East live. The first year of the Iranian and Muslim calendars was the year when the Hejri, the migration of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to the city of Medina in 622, occurred; the difference between two calendars is that the Iranian calendar is solar while the Muslim calendar is lunar. A solar year is considered to be more accurate than a Gregorian year. The Hebrew calendar is an official calendar of Israel. The Julian calendar is used by the Orthodox Church, in particular it is an official calendar of the Russian Orthodox Church.
| Gregorian The Gregorian calendar was created by astronomers at the direction of Pope Gregory XIII in order to modify the Julian calendar: a new Gregorian year came on October 15, 1582. |
Julian The Julian solar calendar was brought into force by Julius Caesar in 45 B.C. to replace the inaccurate Roman lunar calendar. |
Hebrew The Hebrew calendar, one of the most ancient calendars, is both solar and lunar; since the Vth century B.C. it has been based only on calculations. |
