Monte Carlo

According to Global Property Guidean, an American research centre, in 2009 the centre of Monte Carlo is the most expensive place for those who wish to buy their own accommodation. Buyers will have to pay 47 578 US dollars per square meter for proximity to beaches, casinos and the European upper-class society.

Moscow

Moscow is the second world`s most expensive city concerning accommodation prices. The average price for an elite house or appartment is 20853 US dollars per square meter. In 2009 the average price for accomodation has dropped to 5000 US dollars per square meter and keeps sinking.

London

The capital of Great Britain is the third world`s most expensive city. The average price for accomodation is 20 756 US dollars per square meter. In other words, prices for accomodation in London are close to Moscow`s prices. London used to be the second world`s most expensive city but now Moscow has left the British capital behind.

Tokyo

Tokyo is the most expensive Asian city. The average price for apartments in the centre of the city is 17 998 US dollars per square meter. What is more, Tokyo is one of the world`s most expensive cities in respect of living costs.

Hong Kong

If you want to live in the centre of Hong Kong you will have to pay 16 125 US dollars per square meter.

New York

The average price for accomodation in New-York (the most expensive US city) is 14 898 US dollars per square meter.

Paris

Paris, the capital of love and fashion, is the seventh world`s most expensive city in respect of accomodation prices. Those who want to live in the centre of this beautiful city will have to pay 12 122 dollars per square meter.

Singapore

Accommodation in this city-state located in South-East Asia is also too expensive. In 2009 the average house price is 9 701 US dollars per square meter.

Rome

Rome, one of the most ancient cities in the world, is the ninth most expensive city in respect of accomodation prices. The average house price in the centre of the city is 9 166 US dollars per square meter.

Mumbai (Bombay)

Mumbai is an important economic and cultural centre of India. And in comparison to other Indian cities the standard of life in Mumbai is higher. But accommodation prices are very high, too. The average price is 9 163 US dollars
