Instant payments systems
Appearance of reliable electronic payment systems in Russia was late in reference to development of services that needed payment. That’s why in this country payment terminals were offered as an alternative to electronic cash and on-line systems of payment so popular in other countries. Nowdays through terminals of instant payments you can pay mobile phone services or Internet access, buying in an Internet shop or even you can transfer money to the account of charity fund, moreover you can pay avis- or railway tickets.
The market of instant payments in Russia grew by 40 % and reached 536 billion rubles during 2008. Most payments (about 90%) came as pay for mobile operators services, about 4% — pay for Internet providers services. The amount of payment acceptance points reached 350 000 by the end of 2008 and now they are placed almost in all the cities of Russia with population more than 5 000 people. The average payment is 100 rubles. At 2008 year-end more than 5,4 billion transactions were conducted through the terminals of instant payment.
The main market insiders
The leading three insiders of the instant payment market have been constant during latest five years in Russia. There are companies OCMP, CyberPlat, E-port. However the leader changed in 2008.
The Common system of instant payments (ОСМП) is the greatest net of payment terminals. The company was founded in 2004 and by 2008 its turn-over became 175 billion rubles and its share of common turn-out of the market — 33%. This system gives capacity to top up external balances, make charitable contributions, pay for housing and public services, STSI fines and tech inspections, and other services.

Cyberplanet
CyberPlat is the first Russian payment system which was founded in 1997. Today CyberPlat net includes more than 400 000 points that serve leading operators of mobile and fixed-line telephony, commercial TV and providers of different services such as MTS, Beeline, Megaphone, TELE2 and many others in Russia, Kazakstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Moldavia. At 2008 year-end its market share made up 29%, revenues — 155 billion rubles.
E-port
During 2008 the turn-out of the company was 74 billion rubles; the share of the common market turn-out was 14 %. However on August 17, 2009 merger of E-port with OCMP company was declared. Now 100% of shareholding of the new company belongs to OE Investment holding. On-line service momentalno.ru has stopped its work since that moment.

Euroset, a retail dealer of mobile phone operators and electronic sales, also has its own net of payment terminals. Revenues of this type of activity was 53 billion rubles in 2008, and the market share — 10%.
